16.06.2017 - The Minority SafePack Initiative is now available for online signatures

As of today, European citizens everywhere can now support the European Citizens’ Initiative online, to promote the cultural and linguistic diversity in Europe. On the Minority SafePack Initiative campaign homepage (http://www.minority-safepack.eu) the “Sign” button will allow access to the official petition system, where the respective country form needs to be accessed and the required data needs to be filled in. Additionally, a full overview of the online signatures that have been registered so far can be viewed.

08.05.2017 - Visit by the Working Group of Turkish Minorities/Communities to the Turkish community in Bulgaria

Halit Habip Oğlu, Vice-President of the Federal Union of European Nationalities (FUEN) paid on 5-7 May 2017 a study visit to Bulgaria upon the invitation of Kardzhali Turkish Culture and Arts Association (TÜRKSAD). During the study visit to Bulgaria where about 1.5 million Turks live, Habip Oğlu was accompanied by K. Engin Soyyılmaz from the Secretariat of the Working Group of Turkish Minorities/Communities (TAG) inside FUEN.

19.04.2017 - FUEN Vice-President Halit Habip Oğlu visited the Turkish community in Kosovo

Halit Habip Oğlu, Vice-President of the Federal Union of European Nationalities (FUEN), visited on 17-19 April 2017 the Turks living in Kosovo, who are one of the founder communities of the Republic of Kosovo. Upon the invitation extended by the Kosovo Youth Union Association on the occasion of National Festival of Kosovo Turks on 23 April, FUEN Vice-President Habip Oğlu met during the visits paid to Pristina and Prizren where Kosovo Turks populate intensely with the representatives of the Turkish community in the Republic of Kosovo which obtained its independence on 17 February 2008.

31.03.2017 - The EU Commission decided to register FUEN’s 1 million signatures campaign

With the decision on 29 March 2017, the European Union (EU) Commission decided to register the Federal Union of European Nationalities(FUEN)’ Minority SafePack Initiative – the European citizens’ initiative for the minorities in Europe.

24.03.2017 - FUEN paid a study visit to Kiev

Federal union of European Nationalities (FUEN) paid a study visit to Kiev, capital of Ukraine, on 21-24 March 2017. In the first pillar of the visit a round table meeting with minority organizations which are members of FUEN was held on minority policy of Ukraine with participation of Lorant Vincze, President of FUEN, Halit Habip Oğlu, Vice-President of FUEN and Bernard Gaida, Speaker of German Minorities Working Group (AGDM).

06.03.2017 - Two written statements on the Turkish minority in Greece to the UN Human Rights Council by FUEN

The Federal Union of European Nationalities(FUEN) submitted two written statements on the problems of the Turkish Minority and Rhodes-Kos Turks in Greece to 34th regular session of the UN Human Rights Council which will be held from February 27th and March 24^th, 2017 in Geneva, Switzerland.

ABTTF President Halit Habip Oğlu: "Although it is clearly written in the statute, the requirement for a separate work permit for the masjid is typical of Greece in the sense that it put obstacles in order to intervene in the freedom of religion and belief"

13.02.2017 - Habip Oğlu met with the YTB Vice President Sayit Yusuf

Vice President of the Federal Union of European Nationalities (FUEN) Halit Habip Oğlu visited Vice President of the Republic of Turkey Prime Ministry Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (Y.T.B) Sayit Yusuf in his office in Ankara on February 10, 2017. Habip Oğlu congratulated Yusuf on his new appointment as the Y.T.B Vice President and wished him success and great achievements in his future work.

08.02.2017 - FUEN wins on the legal struggle of European minorities

The European Court of Justice delivered that the European Commission decision to reject the registration of FUEN’s one million signature campaign on grounds that the initiative is not within its competence was unlawful.
