Турки  Родоса и Коса и Додоканеса

Группа турок островов  Родоса,  Коса и Додоканеса  являются потомками первых переселенцев на эти острова  со времен Османского завоевания  в 1573 году,  а также турок -  мигрантов в 1897 году с острова Крита, бывшего тогда в составе  Карамнского бейлика.   

После   вхождения  в состав Италии островов Родос и Кос в 1912 году, новыми властями,  турки были выделены как отдельная коренная народность,  проживающая на этих островах.

После того , как  в  1947 году, острова Родос и Кос были переданы под  покровительство Греции, возникли и продолжаются  проблемы дискриминации местных турок. Государственные  структуры  стали откровенно    проводить  политику   нетолерантного   отношения к  местному  турецкому населению.  Власти поощряют неприятие  культурной самобытности турок. Препятствия при найме на работу  и покупке недвижимости стали основными причинами миграции и исхода  местного населения  в Турцию.

На сегодняшний день, от бывшего местного турецкого  населения островов осталось на острове Родос  3000 турок и на острове Кос 2000 турок.

Турецкое население, живущее в Греции, сталкиваются со многими проблемами. Основными проблемами являются не признание населения как турок. Так же отсутствие прав на обучение на родном языке. Жители Евросоюза не могут обучаться на родном

The Federal Union of European Nationalities (FUEN) is shocked by the news that the president of our member organization Rhodes, Kos and the Dodecanese Turks Culture and Solidarity Association, Mr. Mustafa Kaymakçı was arrested and kept under detention one night in Kos (İstanköy), where he was doing research for a new project of his organization.

Турки Родоса и Коса и Додоканеса

The Rhodes, Kos and the Dodacanese Turks Culture and Solidarity Association aims to increase solidarity among Rhodes, Kos and the Dodecanese Turks and contribute to the solution of the problems of the Turkish community living in these islands. The organization aims to increase solidarity among Rhodes, Kos and the Dodecanese Turks who migrated to Turkey, make studies about the Turkish and Muslim identities of the Turks on Rhodes and Kos, and make an effort at protecting Ottoman architectural heritage in the islands, and to cooperate with NGOs in order to meet its goals.


In the last two years the Rhodes, Kos and the Dodacanese Turks Culture and Solidarity Association attended academic conferences and symposiums in accordance with its goals. On 26-27 November 2013 the organisation attended and delivered an oral statement at the 6th Session of the UN Forum on Minority Issues and a presentation at the side event, which was co-organized with the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace. The Rhodes, Kos and the Dodacanese Turks Culture and Solidarity Association is currently working on two projects: The first one is named “Property Problem” and deals with the property problems of the Turks who have migrated and do not live any more in Rhodes and Kos. The second project is “An Oral History Project on Recent History of Turkish Identity of Rhodes and Kos”.
